I've Touched The Face

A view I took to bed last night as we lay beneath
Was of dark blue and black up there in the sky
I stared at the wonder God blessed me with
As the moon shed just enough light I could see her eyes...

I just looked forever at what life has given to me
And, the tears burned as they kept streaming down
For I sadly touched her face of such loneliness
And, prayed to be moved with the wind upon solid ground...

I've touched so much in life but none has given me more than this
And, each day I struggle with extremes in it's own
For I'm happy of the innocence, laughter and sunshine
But, there's this empty promise I can't call home...

Oh God, give light just where I need it most
Cause I've touched the face of sadness for many years
And, God, I will give my life and eternal peace, I would
If you'd just bring my baby girl here...

I watched as the moonlight danced on her eyes so fine
And, what beauty she gives me to each new day
So, I reached and I touched her soft little cheeks
And, I wiped each tomorrow's tears away...

So, on the other end of that sky is a happy heart
Just one I learned to try and see
I live for the smile my sweet baby brings each day
And, the purity of her words as she speaks to me...

I touch the face of fear each time I do wake
And, sometimes wish that I never see the dawn
Cause touching the face of weakness and so childlike
Makes my heart so sad to even move on...

God, whatever I did in this world to have you frown on me
Know I've spent years with despair at my side
Because one time, too many, two years ago
I touched the face of good-bye...

I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

Such sadness, such longing.  Not yourself to blame.  Is the way of the world, sometimes.  Not always an explanation given.  Cherish the child.  Your words, your expression; are her diary.  Choose beautiful, hopeful words.  They will serve you both well.

I don't believe that God frowns on you one bit but I do believe that he sends trials to those he knows are strong enough to make it through them and the reward is the most awesome love of all.  Very touching piece my friend and though it is filled with sadness it is also written wonderfully.

Saunni~
Oh, my friend ... such a lovely piece bathed in your tears.
Sending heart-hugs your way
in the hope that they help in some small way.
Keep writing, love ... and I'm sorry for your sorrow.

Oh, this poem is so filled with pain! Exquisitely written, in meticulously chosen words. I can almost see your little one in the words you have chosen, and I certainly feel your anguish.
God is not frowning on you. I'm a bereaved mommy too, and while I don't pretend to understand why He lets us lose our children, I DO believe that, no matter what it looks like, He loves us dearly.
And I do believe I'll have mine back in Heaven forever. That doesn't keep my pillow dry in this world, though, for the love is so strong.
I'm so terribly sorry for your loss, and I do think, by your poem, that you have a faith in God that will bring you to your precious one, for all eternity, where there is no more sorrow, no tears, and no dying. I will pray for your sorrow, and my heart is with you.
I really care. If you ever feel like e-mailing me, I would welcome hearing from you.
