you're the one, the one I've always loved
ever since I met you under golden skies above
our hearts beating together in rhythm and rhyme
as we explored a love that would last for all time

gentle and warm was the touch of your hand
leading me down that trail to love's secret land
a land that welcomed us both with open arms
as I became your lover, beguiled by your charms

we walked loves trail for only a measure
but I shall remember our love forever and ever
and on nights like this, seeing summer's first star
I send you my love, wherever you are

This is tender, sentimental and sweet, Sven.

'Tis a time for recalling lost love... Very nice, Sven...

Waft every crest upon your destined sea.
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity,
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity.

*sigh*.... hey! ... she's out there somewhere wherever she is, y'know? and you certainly have a way of phrasing it romantically.... it's funny.,.. or is it?.... men usually aren't as demonstrative as women in relaying their feelings... do you think that male poets are different in that respect? or it's all just words.... *bigsigh*... hard to figure out, but then again, i'm just the reader, not the poet... but i will say this...

i have wished on summer star
sometimes near and sometimes far
depending on the season, yes,
but still my wish was just a guess.
a wish, a want, a passion sure,
some do find love which will endure.
and truly, i hope you are one
who finds your star under your sun.

(whoops...
spontaneous poetry... *sigh*...
i guess your verse inspired me!)

Claire, thank you my friend. . . it's the mood I'm in lately. . .

Nan, thanks. . . it is that time again. . . *sigh*. . .

Sunshine, I guess I'm ready for winter to be over now. . . or maybe I'm just ready to be warm. . . thank you my friend. . .

doreen. . . sheesh. . . you mean I have to be philosophical?  Now??  At 11:15 PM EST?? LOL  ok. . .
I guess that in some ways, it is funny. . . you're right though, men usually aren't as demonstrative as women in relaying their feeelings. . . are male poets different in that respect?  Well, I don't know. . . speaking for myself. . .I've always tried to let my feelings come through in my writing. . . and I've always been pretty good at showing them. . . are these just words?  Well, not for me they're not. . . they're my feelings, my longings, my dreams. . . but, inversely to you, I'm the poet and you're the reader. . . (I hope that makes sense!!    )
And thank you for your poem. . . we're even now. . . you've inspired me, and now I've inspired you!!

I really liked your reply to Doreen Sven. I agree with you, however, sometimes I am writing about someone elses situation and I really try hard to put myself in their position...and I try to show their feelings from the bottom of my heart...I know I would never know exactly but I can feel for them...ah the wonders of poetry!
I love this poem Sven it's as honest warm tender and loving as they come.....take care       ethome

Sven dear heart, this is, as all of yours, utterly wonderful. I truly adore this but then I would wouldn't I. And are you good at expressing yourself and your feelings, oh yes. But then maybe because it's the truth it comes through, don't they say truth shines, and it clearly does.
An absolutely wonderful piece from you it is soooo beautiful in both content and form. I really love this
Take care love as always

This is poetry describing thoughts that, for me, are better left in the past sometimes. I enjoyed this, Sven. I'm sure they're out there, and sometimes we wonder if they think of us once in a while as we do them. ya think?
