“IF I ONLY WERE WITH YOU”

I discovered this special place, ‘Deep Bay’ is its name,
it’s part of an enchanted island, and I felt its attraction…
When I first visited there, and gazed all about,
        I was left entirely breathless,
as I could see His perfection…

Staring out over the  water, my spirit was perplexed,
for when I closed my eyes, there came this lovely vision…
I was holding you close, and touching you once again,
at ‘Deep Bay’ where I prayed,
that you were not just an illusion…

When I finally did open them, there was only emptiness,
but you were barely gone for an instant, from my mind…
I now know, there is this burning desire within me,
        for the likes of you,
one I would never more find…

My soul was left there that day, for want of your affection,
perhaps I should have taken, a different avenue…
But one thing I’m certain, I would give you my lonely heart,
        if only………., if only……….,
“If Only I Were With You”…

Heartfelt...yet, Bill is it too late?

It's hard to know the reason you are not with 'her,' but it seems as though you made some choices that messed with a relationship and the romantic I am wonders if the road could be mended.  Your ode causes me to wish that for you.

Bill

I envy you to have found such a beautiful place.  Your writing is sad and beautiful at the same time.  Sometimes you have to listen to your heart.

Such poignant words they are..."If Only.."... Your poetry rings so true, BC... I do believe we all have our very own "Deep Bay," my friend - I truly hope you find that which you seek..

Waft every crest upon your destined sea.
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity,
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity.

VAS - loved your reply. I wasn't quite sure of what you meant by some of it though. But I would like to know. If it's not too much, perhaps an e-mail or I'm on ICQ, to explain further your analysis. Thank you for coming by. I would appreciate it.

Ariana - yes, it is one beautiful place that has captured my heart. And you are correct, this poem is sad and beautiful at the same time. Perhaps my heart is speaking.

Nan - my friend, you are so very ovservant, and yes, I believe also that we all have our own "Deep Bay". I will keep looking, and perhaps find that dream.

Charisma - thank you Charisma, this place that I wrote about is very special to me.

Greeneyes - this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and it did some changes inside that I believe are for the better. I find it very amazing that a 'place' can do this to someone.

Sven - thank you Sven, I do appreciate your comments. I also can see it, and it's almost 3,000 miles away. But oh, to go back soon!

Sunny - hi, is your ICQ ok? This place is calling me every day, and it has become a part of me. Such a place, such a place.......

Gentle Spirit - a'hhhh yes, one beautiful mesmerizing place it is. Thanks for the reply, I do appreciate you coming by.

Reading this, I had to admit...that I would give almost anything for just one more night.  And I really wish that wasn't true.

JLR - I do know exactly what you mean, as I feel the same way. Phew, just once more!

Severn - now can you use a hankerchief my friend? I'm glad that you came by, and that this did touch you.
