My angel doesn't live in heaven
Doesn't have two wings
Doesn't have a halo overhead
Or all those things
Doesn't sleep on fluffy clouds
Throughout eternity
My angel lives right here on earth
And gives her love to me.

My angel has a dirty face
From working in the yard
Red hands from doing dishes
For no heavenly reward.
My angel doesn't play a trumpet,
Just an upright grand
But miracles do happen
With each movement of her hand.

My angel doesn't wear a robe
That flows down long and white
Won't ever man the pearly gates
While bathed in heaven's light
But when she takes the time to let
Me know that she is mine
I live in seventh heaven and
I'm floating on cloud nine....

I do believe that we humans would be much more pleased with earthly angels. As you seem to be. Nicely done.

Balladeer~

An earthy little woman
would just have to be
and absolute angel
to put up with the likes of thee !

If YOU did the dishes
her hands would not be red
And YOUR face would be dirty
if YOU worked in the yard instead !

But it must be
that all things are forgiven -
With an angel like that
you surely must be in Heaven !

Well now... I DON'T work in the yard... I DON'T do dishes.... I DON'T play the upright grand... My face ISN'T dirty.... I guess you didn't write this one for me... ... but I do think I might be sprouting wings though (don't worry - no halo) - The better to fly with, my Deer....

Very neat poem, my friend...

Now how did you manage to catch the eye of an angel like that and where do I order one.   She sounds like the perfect angel to keep our amazing Balladeer smiling and dancing in the clouds.  Very nice sir.

I also had much love to give
But 7th heaven's not where he lives -
For when I shared my heart's desire
I thought his feet might be on fire!
Far and fast away he fled
Guess it's something that I said? *G*

Beautiful poem, Deer one!
