~In Rhythm With the Rain~

Humid breeze comes in ...
'cross window sill,
summer storm
breaks the silence of still.
By candle glow ...
jasmine incense burns ...
lovers embrace,
desire yearns.
wine dipped finger tips,
trace and tease ...
slightly parted moistened lips.
Butterfly kisses
on lids of closed eyes,
mouth on curves of neck ...
bring on contented sighs.
Jasmine and musk mix,
sweet scent of glistening skin,
touch this fire ...
taste this sin.
Hands caress ...
small of back,
bend of knee,
bodies arch
in ecstasy.
Twisted sheets,
legs entwined,
pleasure found ...
then defined.
Rain dances on roof,
in rhythm slow,
lulls all to sleep ...
satiated in afterglow.

Janet Marie

~ache of again~

under 3 am moon,
(again) comes this ache ...
rest now forgotten,
poetic words to forsake.
my eyes know (again) tonight ...
they'll see no sleep.
their burden is heavy,
as is the secret I keep.
like Mardi Gras heat ...
this ache steams my skin,
a thirst unquenched ...
a hunger, unfed from within.
the night air hangs thick,
his scent comes in on humid breeze.
from this ache (again) tonight ...
I'll find no ease.
any trace of him ...
brings on this slow burn.
a moth to his flame,
(by my choice)
I guess I'll never learn.
bayou storms rise up ...
sultry rain comes in slow.
I can still hear his voice,
in whispers, low.
taste his lips,
feel his gentle touch ...
(what I lack) is knowing how to let go ...
of something so fine and needed so much.

she says it's cold outside and she hands me my raincoat
she's always worried about things like that
she says it's all gonna end and it might as well be my fault
and she only sleeps when it's raining
and she screams and her voice is straining

she says baby
it's 3 am I must be lonely
when she says baby
well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes
says the rain's gonna wash away I believe it

Janet Marie,
You are a wonderful poetess but to answer this I'd have to let Randy Dragon out of his cell. LOL

Janet--Such sensual feelings...and written so beautifully, girl...I guess that's what leads to the ache, huh?  Sigh...the rain is not to blame, but may as well keep time to the flicker of the candle's glow.  Hugs!

Both poems are beautiful, one full of love, the other full of sadness for the loss.  You are a great writer!

Beautiful expressions here, Janet.  It rained here all day but it has turned to snow tonight - somehow it doesn't seem as cold, now.

This poet needs a warning preface - you may require a cold shower...
You may say 'tit for tat' = and I'd be speechless - so I'll just say - I'll nestle this away - for days I want to be warmed clear through

I was tempted to skip the steaminess just like I'm doing the valentines... don't need a reminder of what I don't have. *S* But I don't do skips very well. *G* And the longing in the second poem is something I know well... As always, the writing is excellent! *S*

Janet, both these pieces were lovely and tastful.. very discriptive feelings. They sure create a wishful hunger, in such discriptive touch. but tasteful. They make you want to taste, yes taste... hmmmm how many different ways can I say taste.
