Ten Thousand Ten thousand lifetimes wouldn’t be too long For you and I to sing together passions song I could teach you to play my melody so slow We could lie together in heat and feel it flow You could draw from me the magic of delight And I could play you my symphony of night We could ride in unison on the back of oh! To return ever and again to feel fires glow Ten thousand memories would be far too few For us to recall the wonder of our hearts hue We could try them all to find the right one For somewhere there is the colour of our sun If we seek out the rainbow and hold it tight We will find the colours that dance in light Then if we have the time to spare for this We will return ever again to this heats bliss Ten thousand stars would never fill our sky They wouldn’t be enough to witness my sigh We could sprinkle them but they would fade For this fire we have puts their light in shade If we asked them to stay to give us their light They would refuse because we enlighten night The stars would weep before our bright beauty We illume the heavens with our fires’ poetry Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
