Sorrowing Angel (for Martie, Rosemary, and.....)

(This is for Martie, for Rosemary....for any mother who has lost a child...)

Sorrowing Angel

She rests her wing on snowy ground,
protecting from the winter's blight
an ambered rose, its essence blessed
by tears, when to her heart she pressed
a tiny child in pureness crowned,
that God Himself had molded.

And then she calls a silver bird
to send it on a gentle flight -
a single petal, tinged with white,
to warm the grieving mother's breast
and mark the song that heaven heard
when first the bud unfolded.

this is simply stunning ...
both in its imagery and expression of emotion
excellent writing LL and a lovely gesture

laryalee--This is such a loving gesture and heart felt lovely poem you have written. I have been to your web page...and can see what a good heart you have...I am so sorry for the lose you have suffered also. Hugs to you, my friend!
