A couple days ago, I found a spice I'd never seen before in the rack at Wal-Mart.  It was called "jerk seasoning."  The name made me laugh and I decided to try to write a poem about it.  I'm not very pleased with the results, so I challenge you to have fun trying one.  Any form.  I'd bet a limerick would be really apropos.  Good luck!  Here's mine.

Spicy News
Virginia Salter

There it was,
right in the spice bin,
on top of all else in.

“Jerk Seasoning”--
now what could that be?
Sounds like a good idee, to me!

Must be made of nice
and kinder bits of spice--
like smiles, sweet wiles,
toothless crocodiles.

Posies, cozies,
candy-grams all shredded
to sweeten up the worst of souls
who from our lives we’ve dreaded.

How does one apply it,
I might like to try it.
Would you sprinkle
eyes a-twinkle?

Or stir it in a soup?
Mix it in some goop,
come, give me the scoop!

Put it in some water?
Tell me what I oughter know
to cure my friend Joe.

I think I could manufacture the stuff...considering I live with the source.
and the challenge? can it be any spice? or just the "jerk" variety?

Love your sense of humor!

VAS, I love this, but a jerk is a jerk no matter how "he" is seasoned!!!  So much fun.
