My Heart’s Advice I Don’t Need

My heart has known this all along
That you were the one with its song
But I stopped listening to my heart
Because I’d been blown wide apart
And I thought if I ignored its voice
I could make a sensible easy choice
But my heart lifted its voice to say
That it will make its choice its way

My eyes knew before the rest of me
That you were the one with certainty
But I stopped believing what I saw
Because I didn’t want love anymore
And I thought if I closed my eyes
I could manage without loves’ sighs
But my eyes opened up on their own
And connected me to loves phone

My lips knew they wanted your taste

But I stopped seeing their sorry pleas
Because I thought my soul I’d freeze
And thinking I’d my sense to outwit
I could pretend I didn’t mind a bit
But my lips wanted to taste you now
And it went seeking for you anyhow
