Inside the Shell

Like a tortoise, pulling it's head within
the shell of it's home, she resides inside
her mind of thoughts, that surround and spin
each day a bit wearier, from tears that reign, cried.

Not understood, though they say they do
comforted not, by written words heard
lonely and empty, echoes her blue
where verses align with " in-betweens" blurred.

What matters does not, what is wasn't ever
tomorrows get further, and further away stays
Yet the past isn't gone, and the day is forever
No exit in sight, she is lost, in her maze.

She backtracks, her mindsteps, inside empty shell
In heart of her home, where her Sometimes Thoughts dwell.

~Wynter

Kathleen, thank you for your morning response,  awhile ago I read this response to my Sometimes Thoughts elsewhere:
"The shell of a home is not all that different than the shell of a heart" and her words inspired me to write (when I hadn't planned on it)....

jellyb,  well we are all in some kind of shell trying to break out or we wouldn't be on here, I don't think...huggzz

Very interesting thoughts Wynter! I really like the wording that you are using to make your point they really stimulate the sadness of the work....thanks    ethome.
