Painting With The Colors Of Love

As I reach down and scoop up the golden glimmers
riding the ripples of this lake ...
I glance at the moon and see the beauty of you
knowing that this I could never forsake

As I inhale the emerald essence of the forest
surfing in the tides of a mystic breeze
I know I have just tasted your heavenly kiss
as it reaches my lips in an effort to seize

Bathed in the hues within a virgin sunset
immersed in a swirl of blue
The promise of our tomorrow's hope
now baptized in the purity of you

With all the colors of a dancing rainbow
               waltzing across a darkened sky
I feel your touch deep within my soul
caressing a dream of yesterday's cry

As I chip away at grey shadows of stone
resting in the tablets of history
The crevices of tomorrow's visions
help to solve life's hidden mystery

With all these colors sent from heaven
as each new day finds a start
I wish to gather them together with my love
finding a way to fingerpaint your heart

Mark Bohannan

If you find yourself stranded in a storm
...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together

Funny, isn't it, how one's true colours can be so easily revealed.

Balladeer-Amazing what you can do with a little love isn't it my friend.  Thank you so much kind sir.

Karilea-I couldn't ask for more than that now could I?  Thank you much.

Alwye-The treat is in the knowing that you enjoy them.  Thank you so much.

Claire-Yes, even when they are masked by seemingly unforgiveable actions.  True caring must and does always go beyond that.  Thank you very much.

snowpants-Hey there lil one....glad you are diggin the canvas and the images.  Thank you my friend.

Lary-Thank you kindly.  I am glad you found the life in it.

Poeminister-I am glad cause I can't seem to find the other colors.  Thank you much.

SpitFire-I am glad that you found the joy in the both of them.  Thank you dearly.

Melissa-I can only pray that they do.  Thank you kind lady for always bringing a smile.

and you do my gifted artist and poet of imagery and words of beauty ...
trust me .. you do..
this is so lovely Mark ...
in its images of nature's gifts and colors...
and the use of metaphors to display the promise ...
in its presentation too ...
but most of all in the display of emotions that accompany that promise.
and that last verse is with its weight in poetic gold...
love this one MC ... it for SURE qualifies as a GROOVY ...

The last post was so true, one more beautiful is not necessary. Sometimes though, your poems leave me breathless, with nothing else to say. I love the use of color here, I always think of colors associated with moods. Hey, how do you change the color in just certain words like that? I have been meaning to ask someone, and evidently you know how
Love this, as always
