My heart, my Friend,
Can no longer contain
The love that now overwhelms it.
There is just so much affection
Coming its way lately
That the joy is immeasurable;
The happiness is beyond words.
No, there is no reason
To cry tonight;
There are no grounds for sadness
In this place.
You just came along
And took the sorrow away
With one spoken word;
With one tender kiss;
With one gentle touch.
There was a time
That no one could reach the pain
To release me
From its intensity.
There was a time
When not a single soul could love me
The way that I so desperately needed.
But when you looked at me
With those beautiful, soul-searching eyes,
My heart melted away
With just a glance at your face.
And just like the sun
That shines down on us
In the morning,
Your love shattered the darkness
That enveloped my soul for so long.
My heart, my Friend,
Can no longer contain
The love that has taken it away
From the sorrow it has known.

...if I ride these dreams to the Irish Sea,
oh, even there, I know your heart rides with me...

SP, love does seem to explode from the heart at times, and it does so here in your words!
Very much enjoyed!

I just love the sound of shattering heartache when it gives way to love and happiness......don't you?  Beautifully written my friend and very powerful in it's sincerity and emotion.
