here's my heart. . .

please forgive me,
it's a little bit bruised
          a little bit scratched
                    a little bit broken

but it's still beating
           still believing
           still feeling
           still loving
but it's still hurting

but it's okay
I've been through this before. . .
you would think that by now,
I'd be bitter

but I believe in love too much to be bitter
I still believe in the dream
                      the dream of love
                      the dream of life
                      the dream of me
                      the dream of you
                      the dream of us

and I always will. . .

and should I leave this plane and go on
you could open up my chest and take out my heart
and
it
would
still
be
beating

with
love

Now you know that I love this!  This is just Wow! You and I often think and feel alike, you just touch me with your words - Yes, I do say it almost every time when I read a poem of yours, but, seriously after reading this particular poem, my heart just fluttered, this really touched me, because it's like you are speaking through me.  Oh, how I wish that I had written this    I really love this, it may just even be my favourite of yours now. Into the library this goes, heck I'm even printing this out.  Excellent presentation and such honest, beautiful words from your heart...

Take care,
Melissa

Nice writing, Sven.  The heart always seems to endure.  Well said.

It sounds like the heart of a true romantic, one who can never give up on love. How could anyone refuse such an offer?  It is a gift to be cherished.      Very nice, Sven.

Sven dear heart, your heart will always beat to the rhythm of love and long may it do so. This is utterly truly outstanding. Of course you know I Love This is it perfect yes it is.
Always you translate beauty for the eyes to read, which goes straight to the heart and there speaks in accents loud and clear. Utterly wonderful, absolutely fabulous. (No I am not biased!) I just have excellant taste.
Thank you dear heart this is a precious gift
Take care as always love

There is much truth within your words of a heart that beats strong...
We can have our hearts sliced into two but both pieces will always beat to a same tune... and that tune being the LOVE we have within ourselves that we share with others not something that we put away on a shelf...

Enjoyed your poem My PoetFriend

Beautiful Sven!!

Sven dear heart, yes c'est moi again giving this the Bev de Bump bump. Yes I love it when a plan comes together, didn't I say I was perfidious, didn't I? Well, okay it's not wicked as such more sort of Puckish
Anyways back to the front you go. Up where you belong, anyway all of me loves it.
Love as always
                     Bubbles
                       Mushy
                         Bev de Bump
                           Puck
                            and me

And while thy willing soul transpires
At every pore with instant fire
