Shadow

My sleep is laden
by your hovering ghost,
layers of conjured
thought,
a painting of pain
in agonizing patterns
of flesh colored
streaks.

Fragmented face,
a rectangular prism -
collage of cubes
with eyes on all sides.

You point to death,
show me its ugliness,
and dare me to look.

A Picasso kind of dream and chilling besides.  Rare that I can capture a dream long enough to transcribe it . . .
Thanks

Really nice imagery in this.  You captured this wonderfully!

I like it Cor.   Thats really all I can say about any of your work because I haven't found anything that needs improving yet.   This is one of my favorites.

Fabulous imagery.  I could go for a few more lines

Corinne,
Your words conjure unique visions to mind.  Excellent writing.

To achieve such an impact with such brevity is to be applauded and admired.
Rather disturbing in a nightmarish way.
Great poem, Corinne!

I've no idea where this came from - but then I liked Picasso's Blue Period (he lost me when he went abstract) nevertheless - I can't ignore such a beautifully crafted piece = Well done m'lady

This came from dreams about someone I care deeply about who very ill and cannot be reached or helped.

I've always seen him fragmented,
so a cubist period came to mind,
he's also an artist, so it seemed fitting.
