The Silence of Love

You are here with me now, in the deep of the night
If only in warmth and in thoughts of delight
Your touch is the essence that wraps me in love
It’s the vision of splendor that I’m dreaming of

Your love is unspoken in shadows of dawn
If only in memories that I dwell upon
Your words are the comfort that wraps me in love
It’s the cooing I hear of the sweet mourning dove

Your touch is the tenderness, gentle and kind
If only the closeness that I’ve left behind
Your kiss is the passion that wraps me in love
The burning desires that I’m thinking of

How slowly the shadows so silently creep
Awakening visions from pleasure of sleep
The dreams of your loving that I’m fondest of
As I open my eyes to the silence of love

This is both so sad and yet so beautiful. My thoughts are with you often Elizabeth and I pray that you are coping well with all that has happened over the past year.

in the midst and mist of love
your heart knows what it speaks of
your strength is diamond bright
comforting you throughout the nights
so in the midst of the mist
keep forever that tenderest kiss....

sending warm hugs...

Oh, Liz, tears sprang to my eyes when I read this!  I've been there, but not exactly like you.  I do know, however, the waking from joy to a reality of pain and loneliness.  I pray for you, and think of you often.  You and your family are so dear to me.  My heart is with you.  You have put this into such beautiful poetry, just like you always do.  You could publish a book so easily!  You are so prolific, and talented - probably more than one book - if anyone could, you could.

I'm so glad you're still writing.  I haven't been here much lately - so busy - but I'm so glad you're still here.  I'll be back more soon.

Oh Liz, my heart hurts with you.  This was so beautiful and deep and full of longing.  The flow, the rhyme, the sentiment and the imagery were all perfect. Angel hugs for you, my friend

Take care,

I have been so busy and have not been able to visit passions very much. But I was surprised at the loving responses to this poem. I thank you , each and every one, for your kind comments and for your cherished freindships,
