Sitting here and thinking how
My life much richer is now
For all the ones I've chanced upon
And the tapestry that was spun

There was a time when noone came
No friends to play in childhood game
Noone to shelter from the rain
Nor the adolescent pain

Yet in my inner heart I knew
Secrets rare and secrets true
Were wishes horses, all would ride
Other dreamers by my side

Then one day I dropped my guard
I never did something so hard
In my heart I let others in
And found I had a friend

By ones and twos they gathered near
Soothing all my darkest fears
A tapestry we began to weave
And I once more believe

For youth need never fade away
As long as I can dream and play
On wistful horses I will ride
With other dreamers at my side

'Tis a rare and wonderful treat to see a piece from you, Ali. This is a beautiful piece, and I love the idea of the dreamer taking on the world on a wistful horse with the other dreamers by his side. Beautiful work, my friend.

A dreamer you are, Ali.  I admire that in you - that freedom.  No matter what us old stodgy squares might say, don't ever lose that quality.

Hugs to you, m'friend

Well said here Ali.  You just never know what will happen when you let your guard down.

I love this, Alicat... It's a risk to lower our guard... but the rewards can only get in if we give them a chance. *S* Beautiful!

Happy Valentine's Day My Happy Cat of Free Spirits.

Such a beautiful tapestry it is. I have never thought of it that was. I love the thoughts that this brought to me. And what is with the soft smile like you don't know that you are a wonderful writer. Keep on writing such beautiful pieces and know that your Cat in crime will always be here to read them.

Once again, Purrrrrrrrfect, just Purrrrrrrrrfect!!
