I am humbly obliging a sweet request with this wee poem. Fond greetings to all. ~ Claire

Sails

My angel sings to me in tones a'whisper,
tales from o'er the chilled and swelling sea.
His voice at once as strong and soft as breathing,
and darkness falls so far away from me.

He comes to me when I can no more linger
within these brutal walls of ebon gray.
On wings of olive gauze he brings me twilight
and lays it, tender, 'pon the crimson day.

And as I rest a head full fraught with grieving,
his fingers stroke and soothe until the morn.
Upon his moistened chest my tears releasing,
full cradled in his sails I wake, reborn.

~ Claire

Beautifully written. The archaic writting style conveys the simplicity and yet wonderful imagery presented in this peice. My compliments.

I was just telling serenity, I have been reading in back pages of our newly returned archives and I had searched out several of yours, having missed your lovely poetry.
So nice to see your name here in the "now"
as always your cadence, vocabulary and detailed imagery are written in your gifted & graceful signature style.
Beautiful Claire,
take care
