The Green Bay

We search the round of our toll
In the abyss of our soul.
In the shadows of our time
In another life our prime.

Passing through the dark of stain
Where our early sins have lain
Cut the bonds of hold and mold
Hold your candle high and bold.

Free the umbilical cord
Take up your personal sword
Vow to see the light of day
Test in bray your feet of clay.

It is a journey well spent
Full of fire fume and vent.
Human spirit is the shoal.
And your survival the goal.

Rage to see your green of bay
Outrage is our sword in play.

Tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But in you I've found a love so strong
The sun and the moon look on in jealousy

Excellent write sir.  Much to be said for moving forward with a desire and a passion to fight on no matter how battle weary we are.  Makes me want to go in search of a dragon to slay (but not a randy one!! LOL) but then again cowboys don't hunt dragons so I will stick to my saddle and just mosey on along.

If you find yourself stranded in a storm
...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together
