In Your Poetic Mind

We meet within a shady
Grove of pecan trees

Their bold branches sway in
Sun setting - shadows

Soft rays break through
The leaves to dance upon
Us below

"Shall we dance I ask"?

"Did you bring music? you ask"

" We are here among nature
We have our symphony,

We have each other"

"And what song you ask?"

A melody of how life
Might have
Been

You take my hands,
Our fingers linked, you caress
Them softly
With your lips,
And brush the hair away
From my face

And for a moment my emotions, by
No fault of my own change,
As you know what I am feeling,
What you are feeling

I tremble in your arms,
I try hard to hold
The tears I feel
Staining my cheeks
And your shirt

My heart breaks for the truth
Of this, I see in your eyes
A longing that is out of
Reach for now

You kiss my cheek with whispers
"Darling’ I love you"
This, our moment, is for now

As the sun fades

We dance

Without you I find myself
Wanting to be lost again."

Oh, I like this, but it is a little steamy for an old lady. (blushing)  Don't tell, but I really liked this.  ME

Now that is a dance that is worth wrapping your arms around.......not to mention your heart.  Beautiful my poet friend but of course coming from you that was a given coming in to read it.

ohhhhh...thank you one and all....I do not get to spend the time here that I'd like to....it really means much to me that there is a poet society that we can all turn to for reading and enjoying words.....I am grateful for all that read....Thank you much...Be well all...
