God must have sent me an angel
     straight down from heaven above
     to settle here upon this earth
     to give me guidance and love.

     To gently hold my hand
     and brush my tears away
     and give me strength and courage
     to make it through my day.

     To lead me through example
     of a kind and giving heart
     to display faith and hope
     a truly perfected art.

     God must have sent me an angel
     when he gave me you
     for there is no other explanation
     for finding a friend so true.

     I believe that God gave me an angel
     when he sent you my way
     now I pray and hope
     that he'll allow you to stay.

     I only hope that I can return
     the support I receive and the love
     from my guardian angel
     sent down from heaven above.

What a wonderful tribute to your friend! And of course, I love the theme because I adore angels!

This is great and you know I believe in the Guardian Angel. Mine is getting on in years, but she does the job. I am sure yours will have much love to give and hold you gently in her wings. Love this, ME

I think that just in the fact that you recognize this angel is giving back more than you could know. What a wonderful way to express the beauty and the love in a friend that has found their way to your heart.

Your poem was wonderful it makes me think of my own Guardian Angel who came into my life not that long ago she was the one who convinced me to write my first poem. Thank you for sharing your poem with all of us.
