Someday I will hopefully understand
Why dreams were ripped from my hand
As I sat there watching them die
Hot tears streamed freely from my eyes
There was nothing at all I could do
At that moment my heart broke in two
Pain ravaged my weary soul
Blocking out forever my goal

Nothing tangible left to grasp
Fate had obliterated love’s clasp
Sentencing me to a life alone
Where once brilliant light had shone
Never to be seen here again
I doubt my heart could ever mend
It suffered such bitter defeat
As I sat frozen in my seat

There were no words to say
On that bitter January day
The feelings I held deep inside
For eternity shall they reside
Reminding me of the reason
I abhor this cursed season
That tore my life apart
Scarring forever my fragile heart

I still feel the intensity of the pain
That marked me with a blemishing stain
Scorching through my warm blood
Dragging my emotions through the mud
Where they were left to die
Under the blackest of skies
Dreams that once made me see
The woman I was meant to be

What will happen to her
No one can really be sure
She was buried alive
So she never had arrived
Unable to realize the dream
That was within her reach it seemed
Cut off in her prime
This was not her time

Perhaps someday she’ll rise once more
To stand timidly at love’s closed door
Hoping this time to be given a chance
To experience the art of romance
Which she knew once long ago
Before the sun left the wind to blow
A wolf cries out mournfully
As she hopes for all she’ll one day be

LW,

we know not why things happen the way that they do. . . they just do. . . and sometimes. . . they just don't happen the way that we want them to. . .

So, we try again. . . and in the trying. . . we find who we really are. . . and what we're meant to be. . .

Excellent poem. . .

Lonewolf - this is an absolutely tender but sad writing, and I also have felt some of the things that you write. I know how you feel, from my experience, and I wish you the best.

Ah my friend LW...just remember the sun also rises tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after, ad infinitum...although the sky may be cloudy, the sun, regardless is there, just waiting for them to part.  In the same way, love is also just beyond the pain,  always waiting...waiting for the door to open again.  So heal, my friend, and when you're ready...the passion will arise again.

What you have written is very sad...though it is very hard, keep looking to tomorrow.  Don't look for the reason why, no reason could ever be enough to saisfy the amount of pain you feel.  Take care.

LoneWolf~
Not perhaps ... definitely ...
and it will come sooner than you think, my dear.

A poignant piece of longing - waiting to be realized.

erase the word "helpless" and this poem will be fantastic. I know you don't need a critique, but get rid of that word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If what you describe is something that is tearing at you today, my feelings of consolation are with you.

As Sven said, somethings just happen.  That's when we realize how powerful the works of this world are compared to us.

Excellent poem.  It sure gave me a shiver.

Sven . . . Sometimes they just happen, but we are not given the chance to try again.  So the opportunity to discover what could be is lost to us forever.  That is life I guess.  Thanks for your thoughts.

Charisma . . . Thank you, my friend.  Someday I hope I shall do just that.

Bill . . . Sorry that you relate to this, but I am sure the feelings are temporary. Just getting some feelings out there.

Sunshine . . . I appreciate that my friend.

James . . . I know that somewhere beyond the pain lies happiness, but at times it seems so far away.  Just have to remember it is there with each new sunrise.  Thank you my friend.

JamesMichael . . . Yes it is sad, but through dark we find the light.  It's always there.  Thanks.

Jill . . . I thank you for the advice.  I know there reasons will never be known, but healing is faster if we know why.  Welcome to Passions, by the way!!

Marge . . . I hope it does!!  LOL.  I know it will in time.  Thanks for the reply.  ~hugs~ back at ya!!

Kathleen . . . Thanks and it is done.

CD . . . I always write my heart . . . good, bad, happy, sad.  This is me.  Thanks for the reply.  Welcome to Passions!!

Dawn . . . I hope to find I love that I can keep one day and share with someone special.  You are welcome for sharing.
