One time I would’nt mind
Looking over some vast plain
That intersects the skies
And keeps the ground at bay.
It would flow like blood
Making everything live free,
True to itself, it’s nature
All things being equal.
I would feel the pulse
Of the stars and their antiquated
Messages that hold some far out
Distant meaning that has lost it’s way.
To be sure, I would touch
The nearest tree and wonder how old,
And ask if it understood me
Before realizing it was not listening.
So I would sit under it’s canopy
Using it for shade and shelter,
Hoping not to get struck by
Some idiotic sense of rightiousness.
And there, in the planes of existance,
There beyound my grasp,
Would be the field of stars
Laughing and playing as one.
Holding onto their secrets,
Like I hold onto my soul,
Complete with memories of old and Sun’s,
And their Stardust fun.

'There beyond my grasp,
Would be the field of stars
Laughing and playing as one.
Holding onto their secrets,'

Beautiful images, Michael!  Such peaceful thoughts!  I love this!

oh, even there, I know your heart rides with me...

I remember this one.  It is as lovely now as then...
