Don't you remember
That cool spring day?
In the shade of the tree,
We sat by the water's edge
And discovered the truth
About one another.
The water moved slowly
For the soft breeze;
The branches of the weeping willow
Hid us from the sun.
How could you forget
The perfection of that day?
The grass could not have been greener.
The sky could not have been bluer.
My heart could not have been any higher
Than it was on that day--
A day that I will always remember.
I would give the world
To relive it just once more.
Now do you remember that breathtaking day,
Free from worries or troubles of any kind?
It was the moment
I lost my heart to you.

'cause I want nothing more than to sit outside heaven's door and listen to you breathing...

How could anyone possibly forget a day like that? This is lovely.

that huge heart of yours i've come
to know and love shines beautifully
through with this piece. i have no
words to express the amazement of
this. you have rendered me speechless
m'friend. that is a rarity, and take it
as a compliment   lovely poem indeed.

take care sweets.

Gawd........that couldn't have been you........you're not old enough!!!   I do have a memory somewhat like this though and you penned it beautifully. This is really a wonderful piece from you and I like the growth in your poetry lately.  Very well penned my friend.  If he forgot that day then you better order up that pine box now cause he ain't breathin'.

Hmmm...interesting...but, ANYway...a memory like this is something I'll never forget and would hate to think that my company at that point in time could.  Just can't get much more perfection than that, ya know.
But, I thank you, my friend, for your encouraging compliments...much needed, and much appreciated.

The perfect day, yes, it sounds it. I would like to relive a few of those too. For some reason, it just won't happen..
Nice poem, and lovely thoughts to match.

Thanks, Sandra!  Perhaps we can't relive days of the past, but don't give up hope for new memories.  Just a thought...
