I laugh out loud
When in the crowd
Crying …I do alone

No public shroud
For I'm too proud
To show…my heart of stone

I seem endowed
But really cowed
Weeping…for me, atone

While laughing proud
I see the dowd
Mirrored…in me alone

So take this crowd
That laugh out loud
While I'm allowed
To weep …all lone

Kethry dear heart, this is utterly truly wonderful. Yes I love it, as I always do, but when you write so well love what can I do but love it. And you will not cry alone, not while I'm here love. (Go and make some soup, and I'll make some bread) or you could write one of your specials love.
Truly wonderful dear heart
Thank you for this gem
Take care love as always

Kethry - This hit home for me.   I've done exactly this in the past, smiling and laughing in public, while my heart was broken in private.  The nice thing about Passions is so many people here have been in the same places.  Thank you for sharing this.

To love another person is to see the face of God.

That was a really good piece.  It describes so many people who put up stone heart even when they don't want to.  I understand totally.

Really good work

This is so true if only we did not have to cry alone.  This is a nice piece.

I know the feeling. Sometimes, in fact most of the time I do cry alone, because I can't always explain why the tears are there.

Thanks everyone,
the truism I've discovered in these replies is that even when there are others there we cry alone and die alone. No one can walk these passages for us. Thanks again for responding.

Kethry, well-written...but if ever someone wishes to sit and cry with you...allow them for they are surely working a ministry for the Lord.

I know what you mean Kethry, it's hard to show the sadness/hurt we truely feel in public because we often feel it's a week thing to do. But, whether in private or in public I've found tears do heal - so let that emotion flow.

May the day draw near soon that your smiles dwell upon your countenance in those private moments too!

Many cry through their poetry as well.  Nothing wrong with that.  It just means we are real.

Excellent poem, Kethry.

But heart of stone? YOU????? You must have been using poetic license by the truckload there, caring one. *S*

jon,
thank you. Yes sometimes society moulds us in such a way crying in public is shameful, I come from a stoic background where crying was seen to be hysteria and yes I smile alone too.

Kathleen,
I am real when I feel, thank you for your observation.

Sven,
dearheart just knowing you are there to pick me up is enough to stop the tears flowing. Thank you

suthern,
thank you, if my heart is not stone it's because you've shown me how to love.

be real and heal
Kethry
