Write Me a Poem

Write me a sonnet, a word melody.
Pen it in blank verse, or it might be free,
Tanka or ballad.  I really don't care.
Compose a poem and be sure that you share.

Make it a cinquain or sweet villanelle.
Teach me a new form.  You do it so well!
Tell me of love or a story absurd,
Fancy or sorrow.  I'll hang on each word.

Show me your heart in the things that you write.
Warm me with poetry on this cold night.
Help me to laugh or remember a pain.
Paint me a scene, and then do it again.

Choose each word thoughtfully.  It is your art.
Read all your passions straight into my heart.
Know I'm delighted when your words I see.
Write a new poem and then post it for me!

You are a dear friend
and so I am blessed.
your heart is loving,
giving and true.
so I write you this poem,
my style free verse.
You are so versatile,
your poems so varied.
A true poet you are
and gifted in verse.
but the best gift of all,
is your kindness and love.

Congratulations, Marilyn! I honored your request and wrote you a poem, just to say "thank you" for being "you"! Love, Ellie

Gale -   You are too funny!  Yes, 1000 comes fast, as you should know for yourself.  Thanks for the congrats and the compliment.

Paula - Thank you.  I feel I have been the receiver here.

jwesley - Thank you.  I will look forward to reading.

Ellie - I am overcome.  Thank you for writing for me.  I treasure your friendship, as well.  hugs

Charisma - Thank you for the congrats and the hug, which is returned in kind.  ((hugs))

Sunshine - Thank you.  It doesn't seem long, but there is so much inspiration here, and so many things to learn and try!     (And so many cool new smilies!)

Gale - Workshop?  Me?  LOL  I think you want Nan for that.  To tell you the truth, I'm still learning, and haven't even tried all of these, but didn't know they existed before I came to Passions.  It's a great place, eh?  We sure do have to thank that guy who brought us here.
