Step out of myself to try and understand me
Don't know me, can't reach me
Of feelings I'm free

Devoid of all emotion except one called fear
All dried up inside, can't even shed tears

The need to escape, overpowering, so strong
Go through the motions, pretend to belong

Step back into myself, confused of my destiny
One dead soul am I, of feelings I'm free

Jill, you have written some soul-searching words. But they are so very well written and haunting.  I think this is very deep and you have written them so very well.  A very nice poem and hope to see many more from you. Welcome to Passions.

Jil love, this is outstanding, a wonderful debut, absolutely fabulous piece. And I love it, I shall put this in my library. When you are the shining star here, that destiny I believe, has ordained, I shall say I still have her first poem.
Welcome again, may you always shine brightly
Take care love

Devoid of all emotion except one called fear"

First, welcome to the forum, and your poem says an awful lot.  This line made me think that a friend mentioned to me recently, that fear is "needed" use it for what it's  meant for - protect yourself and defend yourself.

I can't say about feelings, although your writing suggests otherwise, but you certainly are not free of thought, or of the ability to use words well.  Welcome to Passions.
