Tribute to Jack and Rose

Drowning in a lifeless sea,
With other souless spawned,
They too try to stay afloat,
Will any of us make it to the dawn?

Ship of dreams, ship of fools,
Cold forbiding skeleton bulk,
Grey water so cold and forbiding,
We watch the sinking hulk.

Will the heart really go on?
For my beloved is lost to me,
Only a moment's passion,
Not enough for a lifetime or for me.

I'd promised him I'd carry on,
He knew that I could do it,
But without him by my side,
Life I don't want any part of it.

But I did go on,
I rode cowboy styled on the beach,
And Jack was there watching,
His smile only just out of reach.

I married a man and we raised a family,
Jack was always there watching over me,
I never did love that totally again,
But I was happy with my life as it must be.

Now back on the ocean once more,
Never dreamed I'd see Titanic again,
It took me back to those days gone by,
Took me back and made me cry.

Tonight I shared my Titanic story with others,
Now they indeed know there was a Jack Dawson,
And how you saved me in every way a person can be saved,
But it all brought back so many memories, really turned them on.

Tonight I gave it to you Jack,
The necklace, 'The Heart of the Ocean',
And when I close my eyes to sleep,
I will be coming to you.

My time here is over,
I was lucky to have this last goodbye,
To all that we shared,
I still miss you, I still cry.

When I go to bed I'll dream of you,
Back on the mighty Titanic together,
Walking down the grande staircase,
Arm in arm forever...
