I was looking through some old poetry and ran across this Valentines day one...LOL, my sincere appologies to Balladeer, Toerag and Christopher

When Cupid Lost His Wings

It was a February day
That I remember well
A day that’s clear here in my mind
The day that cupid fell

Oh that funny little cherub boy
Was playing with my mind
Shooting arrows here and there
In hopes my love he’d find

He was working hard on overtime
He was on a roll
But all that flapping of his wings
Was bound to take it’s toll

And I was getting so confused
Arrows flying left and right
By the time the clock struck 9 PM
I was on date three that night

The first was charming Balladeer
A gentle man of course
And Christopher who played the knight
And rode in on his horse

The final one was Toerag
Who knocked upon my door
I looked outside to find him there
And thought, “Oh no, no more!”

I opened up the door to see
Him smiling there at me
And in his hands a bunch of flowers
Which around them buzzed a bee

“Look out!!!" I said a bit too late
As the bee began to land
Upon Toerag who unaware
Gave swat with his bare hand

The bee became so angry
That it bit him on the rear
And Toerag in haste to escape
Threw the flowers in the air

Poor old cupid flying high
With duty on his mind
Was busy taking careful aim
To all else he was blind

The flowers hit his tired wings
And threw them all off beat
He lost his balance in the sky
To land at Toerag’s feet

His wings were broke, his bow was bent
There were tears there in his eye
From angel status he had gone
To just a naked guy

He hid his full embarrassment
((Among some other things))
Oh it wasn’t a very pretty site
When cupid lost his wings

Now this is truly a hoot. I love this! Poor little cupid, he must have felt stupid when he hit the ground, with no clothes to be found. hehehe
Great poem!

Delightful!  Even if you may not know the three datees beyond a cyber existence.  this is so funny.  I'd like to share a copy with my daughter.  May I?  would you mind e-mailing me your answer?

You made me smile for sure, picturing poor Cupid in his distress (among other things  LOL).  What a terrific, creative Valentine's story this is!
