Task-wielding master,
obedient slave -
to your power I bow,
your approval I crave,
yet push you relentlessly
over my page.

Stern-visaged teacher
and volatile sprite -
you surge as I steer
on our journey of write:
we delve ancient depths,
leap unheralded heights.

Appendage of thought
on a vertical climb -
driving me, pulling me,
stretching my mind;
dancing with fantasy,
unearthing time.

Magnificent wanderer -
capturing light
from sun-rolling heavens
and opening night
for the rocketing thrust
of our destiny flight.

You guide as you follow -
my heart's in your flow;
we sail on desire,
emotions in tow
with unexplored fathoms
of hunger below.

This is a wonderful poem, did your pen make you write it?  Great work

this is outstanding ..and very cool ...
yes wonderful poetic use of metaphor
and very cool in its vocabulary choices,
its verbiage,and phrases.
imagery as well is wonderful
and wisdom kissed as well
you have captured the way writing makes us feel ...
the places it takes us...the way it sets us free.
very cool write Lary.

If my slight Muse do please these curious days ...
The pain be mine ...
but thine shall be the praise.

You are clearly a lady of diverse talents!  I love the flow of this one.   Those pens are complex creatures, aren't they?

Great write, pen, me friend...er, I mean laryalee.  Are you the alias or the pen??

Enjoyed the way you did and said this.  Those "pens" are miserable masters at times aren't they??

Kathleen - Thank you, and may your pen be blessed (it already is *g*)!
Keith - How did you guess?! Thanks!
Janet Marie - I cherish your words - it's so nice to meet new friends on this journey...
Melissa - I will search you out!  Nice to meet a fellow Canadian - so glad you enjoyed it.
kcs - Yep, mine usually pulls me out of bed at 6 am (or sooner), works best in the morning, heh heh!
jwesley - Thanks for the comments - hmm-mm - 'the alias or the pen' - nudge of an idea *g*.

Truly appreciate your responses!
