Portrait of the Worm

In his world of darkness...blind menuing the store
Cavorts in thoroughness ...devouring the gore.
His scavenging at night...brings all to proper state.
And savors every bite...of all interned of late.
Bizarre his menu taste...turning doom into spume.
All the feces and waste...into processed prime loom.
He does not see or hear...the surround of the night.
With neither front nor rear...the passing moon its flight.
Exposed in early morn...his nemeses awaits.
His wiggly dance of dawn...the birds in wait checkmate.
It is a seemly fine...but in a proper line.
We're all consumed in dine...each a type of wine.
Beginning in the rust...and the cycle that must
Part of genesis thrust...of change from dust to dust.

I see you are borrowing from your favorite muse....and I must say....as always, you wend your wit with her style and I smile....

Seymour, this is an awesome description! I love earthworms - save them carefully in my garden, for they are such an integral part of our ecosystem.
I love your play with words (like 'blind menuing').
A feast for the mind (pun intentional)!

OH MY!! Oh Sy ... oh sweet Sy ...
how I wish you could see the smile on my face right now ...

you are so way cool me Stinky ...
for you to write one like this ...
when your form & style is your signature...
well .. you already know
and I should warn ya ... these lil buggers(...) ...
they are as addicting as raspberry tea.*L*
and only YOU could write about worms ...
and make us think ... and it be co cool.
thank you Sy.... for being you.

but thine shall be the praise.

I covet worms - I garden

The first poem I've read about a worm - thank you!

if I am gonna worship ... I must do it properly

Abagail,
No but thank you just the same.

Karilea,
Thank you for the comp. *L*

JM,
I see the smile on your face and it makes my heart warm,
so does the raspberry tea. Winkiewinkie Stinky

Jellybeans,
Sorry about that but thanks for the comp.

Martie,
I sort of like them too, whenever I see one on the cement
I put them back in the garden. *L*

Kathleen,
First poem I ever wrote about worms, thank you.

Hoot,
If your going to eat worms you must be a bird,
Maybe a love bird?

JM,
Surely missed you, always do, don't need worship just do
what you do.Winkiewinkie Stinky
