If you love me, pray let me hear your joy
For brief years or  on me pour your tears
Yea,  I have seen such things as fate destroys
And know how to extend these few good years

For all life’s drawn out upon a slender thread
And we must be aware how tenuous and fine
Stay with me, find its strength and you’ll not dread
We’ll last, I’ll help you feel, your love made mine

Love me at least this day you are my dearest
Stay by my side as we trod toward the sun
Else see me withered tree felled in the forest
Dying to a crumble with my light gone

So cling to me, share all your joy and grief
For this is love’s heart; it is my belief

Great souls have wills; feeble ones have only wishes.

This is very nice, Bill.  Who among us does not want to be told if we are loved?

To love another person is to see the face of God.

That ending really concluded a well-thought out Sonnet. Im amazed at your work. Please post more of these touching pieces.
