Got to head out for my walk but couldn't help but post this today.

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
Virginia Salter

Super bowl Sunday, everyone’s excited,
If not for the game, then a chance to nibble treats.
Yes, that one last fling, before the spring diet starts,
And for days and weeks on end, we ache in our hearts
For chocolate candy, turkey, or steak on the barby
Or those delectable fancies only Mama can perfectly bake.

Some will watch on a twenty-foot screen
So ten-foot tall ball players can make a great scene.
Some will play games and listen to the roar
‘Cuz watching the game is such an awful, awful bore!
Some will search the air waves for something else to do
When reruns and news casts will give them a clue.

It’s Super Bowl Sunday, now join in the fun
Get caught up in the frenzy, be another one
To set aside whatever and let it all wait
They’re about to rip through the paper-clad gate.
Cheerleaders, beer drinkers, chip crunchers all
Can hardly wait until the trumpets call.

A great fight song breaks through the air
Calling all to be at hand and in the fury share.
Join the hordes around the globe
That buy and bet and yell
For they’re caught up in the synergy of the Super-Bowl spell.

I don't care a whole lot for sports of any kind, unless the Vikings are playing. Considering they lost the playoffs to the Giants and did not make the Super Bowl   I am rooting for the Baltimore Ravens!!!!!

Go RAVENS!!!!

I'm not a sports nut, either.  I did love hot dogs at Candlestick Park in the late 60's and at the Oakland A's field.  The sound of the game was great, too.  At least I can understand baseball. ;o}
