She took me for granite,
...I am not a rock,
Sweet purrs of nothingness,
...can't turn back the clock,
She walks in the room,
...saunters over to me,
Lays down on the sofa,
...as sleek as can be,
Her head in my lap,
...looks up with slight smile,
I fight off temptation,
...of feminine guile,
Eyes of green opals,
...No one is speakin',
She rubs on my leg,
...I feel myself weaken,
My hand inches downward,
...O' what I have I done,
From rock to soft putty,
...Once more Cat has won.

Yes!  Absolutely delightful!  May I keep a copy?

Also, since this board moves/changes so fast, I often forget which ones I absolutely want to go back into. So could you e-mail me this poem at < poetlariat@oregontrail.net > if I may have a copy.  Purrrrretty please!

This is a delight, and so well-written!  Thanks for bringing a smile to my day.

Not a cat lover here, but I sure could see her working her giles on you...and winning.
Well written Mike.

I started reading this thinking you were getting lucky! LOL
Now I know the putty cat was just feeling sorry for you.
