I Am the Scent of Jasmine
(Inspired by Paula)

I am not the wild fields and meadows of your dreams
I am the scent of jasmine that drifts above them
I am not the golden leaves of autumn
laying a carpet of pleasure at your feet
I am the wind that sweeps them to their earthly bed

My wings do not soar the blueness of the sky
and descend upon the magnolia of your delight
I am only the echo of the soprano phrases of morning thrush

Nor do I blanket your memories
with a glittering folds of drifted white
But rather delicately carve the wondrous symmetry
into each icy flake that remains in your eye forever

I am not the sun that warms your garden of pleasure
I am a butterfly the touches and caresses
each petal of your passion

I am not the beauty of a rose,
but the taste of honeysuckle that remains on your lips

I do not seek refuge in the darkness of the storm,
but dance with joy in little puddle splashes which mesmerize you
My waters do not gush down the twisted ravines
through rocks of your ambition
But gently splatter puttering drops
on the morning window of your awakening

You will not remember me in the grandeur of the tall trees,
but in the mountain laurel which marks your path
And in the new fragrances of the earth which you breathe in ecstasy ,
and in the purple lace of redbud limbs on the fringes
of wooded hills that surropund you

Everything that remains forever in the memory of your eye
Everything that abides in peace in a corner of your heart
All the visions that are engraved in the joyful recesses of your mind
And every breeze that has lifted your spirit into the billows of white

will have come from my wellspring of my love

Elizabeth~

Yes - that would do it nicely.
I enjoy it when you take me with you
on a walk through life in naturistic tones.

Lovely, lady.

========================
this is more lovely than I have words for ...
but to give you an idea ...'
i read it twice ... aloud the second time
and was so taken in by the imagery
that I didnt even notice your gift of exact rhyme and cadence were "missing"
(trust me nothings missing here)
exceptional and exquisite Liz, truly

Liz~

~Wows~ Just beautiful! Your words flow so softly and exquisitely, I must say that this is one of your best.  The imagery is just so original and breathtaking. Into the library this goes...

Take care,
Melissa
