Open Heart

I speak, my maiden coyness long forgot,
My passion clearly laid before your view,
Exposed my every feeling, all my thought,
An open book awaiting your review.
I sing my heart in sonnets soft and sweet.
I whisper tender words into the air.
I'm smiling, laughing, dancing down the street.
I feel you all the time and everywhere.
I've never understood the courtship rules.
To me, the way I feel is not a game.
If distance and pretense must be the tools
In arts of love, I guess I'm doomed to shame.

But if you want an open heart and true,
Accept the gift I freely offer you.

Kethry - Thank you.   I'm not much good at hiding what I feel.

Mr. Magoo - I can see you are very kind.  Thank you.

Marge - Thank you.  Maybe too open, but that's the way it is.

A wonderful sonnet! Well expressed, I believe that many of us want this and offer our souls, yet, this is taken for granted the most.

Take care,
Melissa

Charisma - Thanks for the "wonderful" reply.

Melissa - Yes, sometimes the offer is taken for granted, or rejected, and it hurts, but I think it's still worth risk, don't you?  Thanks for reading.

Seymour - Thank you very much.  You are one of many here who inspire.

Kathleen - Thank you.  I am glad to have warmed the heart of such an exquisite poet.

Gale - Thanks for your kind review.   Sometimes they aren't so harsh after all.  Keep that heart open.  hugs
