The Shores of Alone

Later, when the pain of him subsides
and longing has been reduced to dust
then, must love be held accountable
for denial of such sacred trust.

Judgment call, harsh treatment undeserved
still the heart holds many wistful dreams
His refrain, so arrogantly served
Yet I wonder, was it what it seemed?

Someday soon these thoughts will not control
And pain, just a broken memory
Then, will knowing him have been of worth
and again, my heart will live to see

Looking forward to see the light of memories not quite understood yet.  There is a happiness that you will find and I hope for you that the understanding comes soon.  Wonderful write.

If you find yourself stranded in a storm
...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together

Sandra,
I feel new hope in this one, a new beginning, and new chances springing from old experiences.  Wonderful, as always!!

well, sandra, i'm hoping for your sake that it was what it seemed but given the fact that so many people seem to be wondering and given the fact that if it seems to good to be true, it probably is, then it probably wasn't what it seemed at all and if it's an "arrogant refrain" your hearing, then who knows and yes i do think that love should be held accountable and hopefully it was love to begin with but if it wasn't, then there's no accounting for anything and i'm rambling here again and who knows what my premise is or what conclusions i'm drawing but i've been telling everybody for the past day or two that i've gone insane and nobody seems to believe me so please excuse me if you don't understand any of this because neither do i, but what i do understand is that in just a few words you said so very much and i hope you do find that knowing him  has been of worth because, ms poet,  you are worthy and i'm sorta angry at men today because it seems some of them violate the most important treasure of life which is love and if that has happened to you, my heart goes out to you and if you still have no idea what i'm typing here or what i mean by it, just know that these are just words on a page and there is no hidden agenda or something like that because i think i heard those words before somewhere and i'm just repeating them.... and believe me... i'm NUTS... so congrats on the poem and please forgive my insanity... *g

Catalina,
Your heart will live on...And you will one day find the beauty that he has stolen from you.  A beautiful write, from a sad and beautiful heart...
          Love, Elise
