Love Poem

Don’t tell you, but I love you just the same.
Even more – much as I try, it won’t go away.
I love a man who makes me love, and laugh…
Who knows my soul, even better than I –

I count my blessings, for your friendship,
Your guidance, whatever you give I am lucky.
Still it is bittersweet, being so near love,
And so far from its’ return to me.

So I accept and cherish what you offer,
Though you may have no passion for me,
You share your ideas and passions with me.
Someday I’ll know how much harder that is.

But I can’t to lie to myself to make it easy.
I will hear your laugh and be filled with joy.
I will see your smile and your eyes, ice blue.
If you don’t mind, I will quietly love you.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply. Reading the poem a few days later - it seems a bit whiney. Back to the drawing board!
