As stories passed through history are oft' in part of this
A mix of fact and prophecy whose time has not arrived
Where once was doubt that genies in a bottle could exist
A map now points the way that proof of this may yet survive

I'll pass no moral judgement on the knowledge man will seek
The mores of social conscience are best left to bigger fish
Were sum of our experience long silenced now to speak
The truth of many fables is be careful what you wish

We stand again upon what spans from fantasy to fact
At present it is theorized we hold tomorrow's key
Our future poised to pluck another test-tube from the rack
Let's wish that what is granted is as we would have it be

For unlike wishes three where-in first two might be undone
The new reality maybe that we have just but one .

Doc,
may you live in interesting times, if you're careful what you wish for. Well done!

Doc,
Can't remember the last time you were so serious. Enjoyed the read.

Be careful what you wish for, be careful what you pray for....you just might get it!! I guess sometimes we just don't understand the implications of what we think we want. Great poem, Dr.Moose! It's always a pleasure!

Sunshine ,
Thanks , I don't pretend to understand the science , but occasionally ponder the implications .

My wishes are likely to remain unfulfilled... but I'll keep on wishing! (carefully, of course! LOL) Great poem, Doc!
