My Lord / My Confidence

There were times when I doubted myself,
wondered if I would make it through.
Those were the times you were there,
to keep me focused on what I had to do.

You didn't push or make demands,
that I maintain a steady pace.
But if I dared try to quit,
you would be right there in my face.

Not to complain or berate,
nor the dreaded, I told you so.
Only love and encouragement,
building me up to give it another go.

So with your light to guide me,
and your strength to pull me through.
My confidence never faltered,
my confidence was my faith in you.
