Clock Chimes
Virginia Salter

clock chimes
day’s begun
heavenward
greets the sun

morning kissed
with autumn’s dew
as I sit here
thinking, You

are much too far,
too far away
for me
to greet
this brand new day

in a manner
of pleasing smiles
until we meet
our reconcile

what might I say
what might I do
to heal the hurt
I’ve piled on you

and what will be
your recompense
to end the pain
break down the fence

soothe our souls
align our goals
a promise, a kiss
a hit, a miss

As I note dates of your poetry when first written, I imagine you going through your volumes, picking, choosing, dismissing one over another...

so I'm very glad you shared this!

Yes, you are correct.  Although, I'm not very objective, so you're getting almost all of them. ;o}

I'm glad you liked this one, Sunshine, thanks!

I agree, nice one, Virginia.
(I should go dig up a dusty one, maybe.)
