It was dark in the room
Except for the red glow of machines
A comfortable quiet broken by their hum
And she was in her own dreams

I guess she was old in earth years
But as she lay on the bed in that room
A calmness came and erased all fears
And removed any sign of gloom

As she lay in the quietness
A smile spread over her face
Eyes opened and glowed with brightness
At what she saw in outer space

He has come to visit me
To tell me he still cares
I will follow where he will lead
And I know he answers my prayers

Her face had the glow of youth dew
Not a wrinkle to be seen
We wished we could see what she saw
From the time of must have been

The room became very quiet
As she got ready to meet him
No one would want to stop it
And the angels took her to meet him

She left us with calmness and grace
Never even looking back
The serenity spread over her face
She is living with angels in fact

Oh, ME, this is absolutely one of the most touching poems I have ever read. So comforting, too!

Very mellow and comforting write.  I love the images of peaceful resolution in this one and it gives much hope as to just how quietly we might be able to join "him".  Loved the read and the tranquility it brings.  Thank you.
