The Tear of a Child

The tear of a child is like fresh suckled milk
A droplet of mist on a petal of silk
A small bead of tenderness gently displayed
Distress on an angel cheek carefully layed

It gleams like a crystalline dewdrop of want
And pours from the deep purest unsoiled font
In a speckle of moisture the innocent plead
And it blankets a mother with unspoken need

The tear of a child is the cry of the meek
It turns a heart soft as it rolls down a cheek
It gathers affection and hugs as it goes
A dewdrop of love on a petal of rose

Elizabeth~
The most precious read ...
I smile with easy-remembering at the magic of those little tears.

Pulling on this mother's heartstrings, you are.
Thank you ... with a gentle hug !

WOW...you sure know how to reach the hearts don't you?  This was tenderly penned with a vision that is so pure and so "right-on" in it's description that only you could reach there and pull it out for us.  Truely an amazing write my friend.

I can't think of the right adjective to describe this poem. On a scale of one to ten it is clearly over the top!

Oh My, I'm in tears too...
What a special treasure you have shared with us PoetFriend Elizabeth...
I had visions throughout the read of a single teardrop trickling down a lil one's cheek...
A keepsake for my library I thank you...

Sometimes I read a poem that leaves me speachless.
This poem took hold of my heart right from the title.
OK now, Im a grown man so I wont tell you that this put a tear in my eye.
If I were a lady I could see this doing just that...
HumHum..wiping my ey...I mean clearing my thoughts.
Beautiful Write.

Aww, I think there is nothing worse than the tears of a child. SO Sad! But you did a great job writing this.

Your responses to this poem are just precious. I had read them but didn't have a chance to respond. It seems everyone can relate to a teardrop on a child's face.
THank you all so very much
