Come take a peek into his world

His million thoughts
zoom around on bullet brooms
in a multi-pressure boiler
Bouncing and colliding,
they scream, they yell
but none is to be heard

a word-lover marvels at
the majesty of twenty-six letters
with their numerous permutations

yet bemoans how fake
his empty words appear on paper,
capturing no essence of himself

his million thoughts speed around,
carrying frowning sulks at
not being penned down
"we dislike our incompetent owner"
they exclaim

******************************

a wannabe word weaver
wishes to set the world ablaze,
with his curious lexical choices
and fresh-eyed introspective views
that will REdefine the world

yet is aghast at how
his writings come across as amateurish and cliched
(in fact, he pauses to think,
he is using a cliche to describe the cliched),

perhaps showing him the person he is,
a coward, a follower,
always thick in the shadowy footsteps of others,
with himself fading into oblivion,
nothing else to be offered

******************************

he should call it a day
he is weary of the way
he fumbles around with words,
arranging them in any old way
and daring to pass them off as poetry

he often ponders:
are the great poets turning in their graves
when they see how the mediocre abuses their craft,

his writings are like instant coffee,
easy to brew but lacking in substance

*****************************************

he has his misgivings
but he is compelled to write, to write,

TO WRITE, WRITE, WRITE
WRITE, WRITE, WRITE,

a primitive chant
that grabs his body, mind and soul(yet another cliche!!)
til he is powerless, senseless, defenseless
to do anything else but

W R I T E,

saying it all--his livelihood

author's note:i apologise for the shouting.i know its rude.

Ooooooo.....I love how you capture the frustration of not being able to say what you want or mean. I could really identify with this piece.

thank you all, towards late i have been reflecting on my writing and i feel i have reached a plateau, unable to break through...i appreciate you reading this(yes, sven, its the longest piece i have written so far and it could be even longer if i didnt restrain myself ) as i srtive to probe deep into myself so as to break through my barrier...

i think its funny: the longer i write, the more i think i am not a good writer...i may be nagging here(argh!) but i appreciate the words of encouragement you guys have for me...

on an up note, i have reached 2000 posts!!believe me, i never knew my interest in writing could be sustained for so long

Wow! This is great, Kaile! I especially loved the instant coffee line! I think you are being too hard on yourself, though. So keep writing! Congratulations on 2000!!

Your thoughts should be smiling now, Kaile!     This is an excellent write.  And congratulations on 2000!

Very well stated.  So many of us have surely had these thoughts, yet not so well expressed.  This is a fine collection and I too was stopped to give awe to the comparison of instant coffee...easy, yet lacking substance.  Oh those two lines are my favorite but I would not cut out ANY of this poem...even the stressed words.  It did not feel rude, it felt like I was almost saying them in my insanity to write, write, write!

Well, belated congrats on your 2000th post.  This was a wonderful write from you and I don't care what plateau you think you might be stuck on......I continually see you growing in each one of them so whether it is a gradual slope or a steep incline that you conquer....we will be here to share it with you.

btw....shout all you want......sometimes it is what is needed to be heard.

kaile...rant all you want...i dont mind your being loud    i find you interesting, humorous, and thought provoking    the poets of yesteryear may be turning in their graves..but THEY wrote about 'the bells the bells the bells the bells the bells the bells....." grrr....how boring was THAT!!  LOL

congrats on 2000!!  keep it up (in between lectures of course..  )

hugs, g
