You say she is
your everything
Then why do you
need me
I may not be
your everything
But I'm what makes
everything complete
I'm not the perfect
beauty of the rose
But the scent that
you remember
I'm not the sparkle
and fizz of champagne
Just the taste that
lingers on your lips
I'm not the roller
coaster ride
I'm the feeling in your
belly when its over
I'm the dream you
know you had
That left you breathless
and wanting
I'm the star you
can't quite see
The one that holds
your imagination
So I may not be
your everything
But if you stop
and think
I may not be your
everything
Just everything you
cant live without

WOW! Does this ever ring true! Beautifully written. I know too well where you are coming from... from both the woman's perspective and my own.

Paula love, you are everything and a bit more, this is utterly truly wonderful love. This is your writing at its absolute best, this is the type of writing that everyone wants but can't aspire too. And you have it, that certain quality that makes others sigh because they have to work at it and you make it look easy. It is as natural as breathing is for others. Utterly wonderful dear heart.
Take care love

I've precious little time 'online' and still less of it here of late, so when I'm fortunate enough to read a poem of such quality and wisdom - that touches me to the core ... simply let me say You are the scent -and you are all these things and more - you should know you are valued beyond any words that could be expressed here.

You tell him, Paula..What a fool, hm? How is it that certain people cannot see the wonderful love and joy that is right under their nose, while they refuse to look.
Sigh..think I relate a little?
This is a VERY good poem, clear voice ringing with some intense thoughts.
Best wishes to you, I hope he wakes up before it is too late.
