It was midnight and all was calm everywhere
Amid mysterious twinklings alit in the air
When suddenly a chime was heard...
Ding-A-ling Ding-A-ling the clock bell rings

At stroke of twelve time froze still
While teddies pranced about in thrill
A special moment treasured in time
As teddies rejoyce and breathe new life
Freely playing and dancing in pirouettes
While lil browneyes in dreams she slept

The teddies in unison strolled across wooden floor
Dressed in charmed outfits for a merry show
Promenading on their tippi-beartoes...
Clickety Hippity Bop
Bumpity Jippity Hop

Just as they approach a corner in room
Pearing out of a hole a grey mouse hidden in view
With snout of whiskers excited in flutter
Unannounced he joined in among the others

Soon all were engaged in this promenade play
Until suddenly mommy bear let out a scream
"eek-eek a mouse I see at rear"...
So the teddies ran off to a safe retreat
Back onto a shelf or hidden beneath sheets

Amidst the scurry baby bear remained
"tee-hee" she giggled while smiling happily
"A lil grey mouse has come to play with me"...

Just then the clock struck half past twelve
Ding-A-Ling Ding-A-Ling the chime bell rang
At that moment all the teddies stood still
They couldn't giggle in their playfullness
Nor wiggle a hair on their furry bear chests

Left alone there on the wooden bare floor
Was lil grey mouse scampering for home
Back into the hole for tomorrow he goes
Until lil one awakens at dawn of morn
When the dream of last night twinkles in brown
Seen glimmering in baby bear's button-like eyes

Mistletoe, your response warms my heart PoetFriend, and I thank you 'bearry' much for your sweet reply...

Melissa, I'm tickled 'bearry brown' that you enjoyed this treasured tale in rhyme...
Ya know I too am an avid collector of bears and so I have shared my furry collection of paws with my lil browneyed one and she gets to appreciate them as well as I continue to do...

Marge, in all honesty I was kind of reluctant to post this but I went ahead and did my best and at the end I thought to myself that my lil one would cherish this and now I read that you have too and this brings much joy to me my friend I 'bearry' much thank you...

Coco~
this was one of the most adorable things
I've read in a real long time. When I was
a kid, I used to pretend all my stuffed
animals were real only they couldn't tell
me lol. And when I would go to sleep at
night, they would wake up and have a
"party" thanks so much for helping me
relive some of my childhood. this brought
a huge smile to my face.

take care

MARGE, you are 'bearry' sweet to have taken another peak and I treasure this gesture more than you shall ever know dear friend thank you...

Ellie, it is I who thanks you for sneaking in here to read this poem I wrote for my daughter which I share with all of you...

Elizabeth, your comments have touched my heart and I can't wait to tell my daughter that you too have enjoyed this poem...
I've read to her over the holidays some of your Christmas poems and together we've drawn some artwork in theme with your eloquent words so she is 'bearry' much acquainted with you and your poetry you've shared during the months I have been here...

Sunshine, with pleasure sweetie, it's meant for the lil ones to read and should the adult find it a treat then I'm double happy for bringing the magic of a little girl's dream into a home on any an eve...
And I thank you my friend for this gracious compliment...

VAS, ya know what that one just popped outta my head and I must confess that's one of my favorite wordings here 'tippi-beartoes'...
Thank you for taking the time to read the poem...

Charisma, my goodness you brought me a Geddes bear such a sweet treat to see in image and I thank you hun for the thrill in your response makes me smile...
I'm 'bearry' glad you enjoyed this poem...

Mark, sweetPoetFriend, you are much too kind and I truly appreciate your enthusiasm... and I'm elated with joy in all honesty that you have found this a treasure to read coming from a Poet like you I take your comments straight to my heart...

Aimster, I'm happy to see you stopped by to read this as I thought you might appreciate this poem and as for your reply it brings me smiles to bring a friend back to a sweet time of remembering although ya know it was not my intention at start but like you I also got caught up in the remembering and I guess that's how it ended up being written kinda lengthy

This was just too adorable. Didn't we all dream our teddy bears danced while we slept as children?
