With Love

Within the rumpled crinkled wings
of time
soft and tender fleeting life
stretches and floats
and finds in tear a looking glass
to see the flash of green and blue
that you have folded
like fresh cotton cloth
across my heart with love

And displayed so
the crease remains
for in the drawer I open
your name engraved so clear
sweet and pungent with aroma
of roses and a four leaf clover
pressed against
the line dried fragile
filigree of tender lettering

So spread across the lap of time
I feel its imprint in my soul
that stole this word lit imagery
and placed it so upon my day
to light the smallest place in me
where darkness caught
you found
and thought to fill
with the light of you

You've got to watch these tear-jerkers Martie, or at least, dear, post a warning label...

(sigh) Beautiful! Yes, the shoebox deep inside your heart sure has beautiful memories! Yes, love is the most beautiful thing in the world, never let those memories go! Excellent poem, my friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Martie, This is like fresh air to me, it speaks volumes ! (green and blue are the colors my lover and I have chosen as our shield) I know she'll enjoy reading this as well.

Noah--Thank you for taking the time to write such a sweet comment...I appreicate it, and you're right about love.

Robert--The colors are my favorites...but I'm not sure I understand about the shield..what is that...and I'm so glad that you want to share this with your love...that pleases me greatly.

Martie~
I love it when you plunder through the nostalgia.

You pick me up and set me down in wonderous recall.

You also just sent me to the chiffonier to lovingly finger my great grandmother's diary, where she caligraphied her memories for me to treasure.

You deserve a hug - *HUG*.
Love you, sweet friend.

Evening Martie,

The more of your work that I read, the more I like. You have a style that grows on one. And you also write very well.
