THank You, Lady Poet

I read a poem the other day
That stirred me to the core
It told of something so divine
That I have known before

It spoke to me as though the poet
Wrote my heart and soul
She penned in words what even thoughts
So vaguely could unfold

She spoke of love, but love sublime
And seemed to play my part
As she defined in wondrous lines
A portait of my heart

Tears came pouring through her words
Of rapture of my own
Sensations of a tenderness
And pleasure I have known

And then her verse sliced though my heart
And severed every string
The pain of losing precious love
Was losing everything

Thank you, lady poet
For unmasking all my grief
Your poetry has given me
A sense of new relief

For now I know that on this earth
There is another soul
Who lives like me, just half a life
Til love completes the whole

I’d always been so secretive
Of feelings that were mine
But someone else has dared to share
The loss of love sublime

Thank you, Lady poet
For exposing who I am
I’ll be back to read your
Lovely verses once again

Elizabeth Santos

Liz--I have seen you write your heart so many times on the page...isn't it nice to find that you are not alone in how you feel, I know because you have written my heart many times.  You have such a way of expressing yourself...just makes me want to write like you...hugs!

Poetic Enchantress,
Thank you for the "Wow". You make me feel good

Martie,
Please don't you ever dare write like me. Anyone could do that
But nobody could write like Martie. So stick to your style girl. You are the best!

POet deVine, What a sweet remark. THank you
so much. I'm glad you liked the poem

Lizzie,
you have poetically defined one of the most special gifts found here each day ...
when we see our own heart written in anothers words...
as me and serenity say ...a poem holds up  mirrors ...
We all share the same emotions at one time or another ... but still sometimes we feel alone in our feelings ...
it is what I call quiet comfort...to read and see our selves in anothers poetry.
sincere lovely poem dear poet
love to ya

Secrets can kill and destroy can't they Elizabeth?  Light and truth are the core of poetry and even in the darkness our words should reach out for others.  The poems that Emily Dickinson hid beneath her mattress live on.  Our words should be heard and read and live on, not be hidden. This is a beautiful tribute to a poet.  She should be acknowledged, not hiddened.  She has been in the darkness all of her life, no doubt. It's beautiful.

O Lady Poet, O beautiful writer, O friend Liz,
This is as exquisitely penned as ever...

It's been a while, and I have a lot of catching up to do... and maybe if time is better towards me and slows down a bit, I can make it through all the beautiful words that you have written the past few months...

My regards,
Take Care,
Sudhir.

In case you haven't noticed, you touch so very many of us... and sometimes leave me wondering how you write my heart so well without having ever met me. *S* So whoever the someone is who gave you back the gift you give so generously, I thank her. *S*
