Silence Of The Lost.

Moments alone lost
Out of control
In the dark of night
No belongings, no home
Collars to warm
Nose dripping
Eyes swollen
Tears flowing

Glorious days, happy times
Gone in a flash
To the winds of change
Fallen knees unwanted
Pleas begging compassion
Mere silence abounds
As the walk to nowhere
Begins a thousand thoughts
Asking a million questions
In the silence of the lost

If there is in truth
Real love, bring it out
To greet the quiet
The destitute
Let it be harnessed
So that the lost
Can never experience
Silence

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Oh hon,
This is just a wonderful piece that makes me think of my life now.  You are always writing the pieces that make me think about life.  Thank you for sharing again. I just hope that one day I won't be one of the lost anymore.

Love,
Lady

I always believe that 'to get lost is truly to find ones self' . Whenever I go for a mental or physical strowl into the unknown, I always come out thinking straighter . I really enjoyed this poem, it has loads of depth and meaning and flowed very well . You're very talented my friend .
Thanks a lot .

Your words touched me deeply.  Oh, I know just a poem right? Well, not to this reader.
Silence to a child is devastating, years of feeling lost is crippling, to the poet it is death. To the person wanting real love it is everything.  If someone is silent for many years they store up either evil or goodness or maybe both.  Being told to be silent to a child, or anyone is cruel.  Being able to express yourself is a gift.  Yes, this touched me very deeply.

Lady,
There is so much silence out there, and we are immersed by its enormity, but seldom we raise an eyebrow to the magnitude of the problem. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your comments are always so great. Cheers.

JD~
I'd have to say that this is a feeling piece.

There are all kinds of silence ~

Some are welcomed ~
The silence of quietude where moments of thought overtake ~
The reverent silence when listening is an art~
The moments of silence when a hush falls ~
over the earth at the setting of the sun~
The silence of opening ourselves to others
and knowing they hear us by our actions ~

Some are not~
Silence imposed by another is a cruel extinguisher of friendships that could have been shared ~
Silence held in complicity of a wrong-doing~
Silence insisted upon with malicicous intent ~
Silence of the words that would lift another~
Silence of the heart of one who is lost ~

Unfortunately, the are not's usually outnumber the are welcomed's.

You've provided lots of food for ponder.
I'm pondering.
Well done, poet.

To be lost in silence, This is so sad, with no one listening, sometimes silence is also a two edged sword, somehow is words need to be spoken there needs to be just one person there to listen, I to agree that to often so many children are not heard, with so much rush of today's world we need to stop and listen for the children are our future. Very nice poem Daniel.

yes, silence can do all this... there is a sacred thing about silence, but also a negative connotation sometimes..... thank you for sharing this.... you've written well.

This is great, Daniel. A little love would probably go a long way toward healing the pain of many of those less fortunate. Great thoughts in this!

Kathleen,
You moved me with this wonderful reply. Silence is something we have all experienced, however, not many cope with it well.

Marge,
The greatness of our being is unknown to even ourselves. What we do know and feel is loneliness, and when there is solitude circling our deepest emotions, Silence takes control, from ourselves and those around us. Breaking it (the silence) is not easy, indeed.

Rosebud, and Charisma,
Apologies for the late reply. Thank you both for your wonderful words. Lost in silence may have been a more appropriate title.

Doreen, and dsnyder,
Cheers, and to those lost souls out there, may they feel the warmth of human touch to release them from the shackles of solitude.
