Through breathtaking night wind
afternoon breeze
you held me to your own
and led me to believe

you took a tarnished star
and polished to perfection
to shine from up on far
to face a new direction

I write the poems
that others often need
to feel a sense of hope
and peace that they so need.

I just write to honor those
who held onto my hand
and I survived the storm,
to write from where I stand.
