"Little Devils-Sleeping Angels"

Yelling,fighting and throwing fits
Does it ever end?
Dad I promise I`ll be good.
Can I have some money to spend?

Muddy shoes and dirty carpet,
Spilt milk on the kitchen floor.
Neighborhood kid was hit with a ball,
His parents are at the door.

The gates left open and the dogs ran off.
And this is a normal day.
After their baths,milk and cookies,
Off to bed the little devils`ll lay.

I look at their faces while their asleep,
And I see no devils at all.
All I see are sleeping angels.
How could so much trouble
come from someone so precious and small?

JUST A THOUGHT
It`s late at night that I see just how blessed
us parents are.
Before you grab your belt or raise your voice in anger
Please, remember,no matter how difficult they may seem,
they are precious little people that look up
to you and me and they only know what we teach them.

I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone that has replied and for your kind comments.
GRANDCHILDREN? From what I`ve heard, they can be a blessing. You get to have fun with them
while they`r being good and send them back to mom and dad when they`r bad.
Can`t wait....I think.
Once again thank you.

I agree with you whole heartedly Mr. Magoo. I also believe the "belt or raised voice" is a lesson learned when properly used.  There are abusive parents but not all punishment of that manner is abusive...by far, most is not.

Great write...nice to see the loving of children, particularly by fathers...don't see enough from that aspect.  Be sure your kids, boys & girls know they can hug and kiss their dad, anytime, anywhere, in front of anyone. Surprising how many don't know that.

Walk easy, write on...

Sure enjoyed your sharing the treasured memories you are in the process of making.Although the day to day strife of raising children doen't always seem so treasured in the "heat" of the moment. One day when they are all gown up and gone you can dig them up and relive those wonderful times. Then remind them of it when their kids do the same devilish things....nona

Welcome to Passions, dear one! Oh yes, you will love it here, we enjoy your company very much! Feel free to post your poetry here anytime! Wow, your first poem was very amusing to read, I know how you feel. I am seventeen now, but I was once one of those mischievious little kids. Oh, all that fun, all that play, but at night, sleep like a lamb! Excellent poem, my friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

dg,
How true that is...I heard so much about the 2`s but I truly think that it should be the terrible 3`s or perhaps 4`s?
No matter the age they are still the most precious gift one can recieve.
Thank you for kind input.

Wonderfully done, Mr. Magoo.  Childlike yet right on serious as well.  Enjoyed the read.  Powerful message.  Thanks for the blessing, too.  Say it's national 'hug day' consider yourself hugged for caring about the children and the parents who raise them.

Mr. Magoo: this is a beautiful poem about the little darlings. If only we parents can remember the look of their sleeping faces when they are awake and full of it!  Too soon they grow up and leave and start the process all over again.  I love your words and welcome to Passions and hope to see a lot more from you,
       Hugs,  ME

Welcome to Passion, Mister!!! What a way to enter. I must say I was giggling and grwling with remembrance, cuz although I'm still somewhat a child myself, I remember my friends six little devils (has anyone seen Bebe's Kids?!) tearing around my ankles... *sigh* I think I'm gonna go visit my friend.
